Astoria High School sponsored this grant. Other organizations involved include the Astoria Band Booster Club, Astoria Liberty Theater, and Mr. Michael Kosmala.

The Astoria School District has a comprehensive music program that provides music education opportunities for all student in grades 1-12 including general music, orchestra, choir and band. Although the music program is comprehensive in nature, the district's music programs are lacking the ability to build and sustain ongoing community partnerships between the Astoria arts community and the school district. This project will be used to help support an Astoria School District/Community Arts Forum with specific goals that will provide a plan of action to bring partnerships together to work within the schools and communities to help rais awareness of the local opportunities for students and community members.
