The Netel Grange is an historic community-use structure in the Lewis and Clark River Valley. The building was constructed in 1910 and is essentially preserved in its original as-built condition. It was constructed as a community center and service organization for the farm community of the early 1900s when travel to and from the urban center of Astoria was mostly by horse and wagon. The Grange was awarded a grant to help with the culmination of 15 years of restoration to the building's foundation, hetating plant, chimney, windows, and interiort. The project will provide 50 gallons of paint for the exterior. The entire project will be completed just in time for the Grange's 100 year anniversary in October of 2010. |
