Patricia Van Osdol is the owner and operator of Granny Patti's Trading Post in Knappa Oregon. Knappa/Svensen is a rural area about 10 minutes from Astoria. Her project was to get seed funds to provide a community library in the Svensen/Knappa area The distance and cost of Astoria and Clatskanie public library cards has resulted in the lack of access to library services for the local community. After exhausting all efforts, local community members came to Granny Patti and made the simiple request; "If we donate books, will you run a library?" The community response was overwhelming to her affirmative answer. Librarians stepped forward to help and more books were donated than shelving. .

Ms. Van Osdol received $1,000 for shelving and other infrastructure for 'The Library'.
