The Clatsop-Nehalem People

The Seaside Native American Project, the Seaside Museum and Historical Society, and the Clatsop-Nehalem Confederated Tribe have collaborated to develop a fourth grade curriculum detailing the history of the Clatsop-Nehalem people in the 1700s. The curriculum consists of a teacher's handbook, individual student handbooks and supplies for accompanying "hands on" projects. This is a pilot project and will be utilized in the Seaside Heights Elementary School fourth grade classes during the 2009-10 school year, expanding the usage to fourth grade classes in other Clatsop County schools.

The funds will be used for printing texts and teacher's guides, and for the supplies used in the units.
