The Cannon Beach Arts Association provides a quality week long art camp at a reasonable cost per student. Second through eighth graders from Cannon Beach, Seaside, Gearhart, and Astoria spend afternoons exploring art forms with professional instructor/artists. This coming summer the Association will specifically work towards welcoming Hispanic children to the program.

The classes will be designed to incorporate more than art techniques. The children also learn the stories behind the art and reasons for developing an appreciation of all kinds of art. History and heritage enter into the lesson plans such as practicing old fashioned techniques in book binding or studying the heritage of the sea. Students in the Trash Art class enjojoy hunting through trash to make costumes, including hats, shoes, shirts an dother accessories out of recylced goods. It is a fun and imaginative way to reinforce the principles of reduce/reuse/and recycle while allowing imaginations to soar.
