Cinco de Mayo Kick-off for Latino Radio Outreach

Coast Community Radio will introduce an array of new broadcast services for the Hispanic community, including on-air announcements of meetings and events, coverage of local Latino news and public affairs, training for students to produce radio programs, and potentially a Spanish language section in the station's Programming Newsletter. Funds from this grant will help secure one of the most Latin entertainers in our region, Cojunto Alegre, for a May 5th event in Astoria called Salsa en la Playa (Dance at the beach) to leverage the notoriety of Portland's annual event, Salsa en la Calle.
